JAZZ, CONTEMPORARY & LYRICAL

photo feb 21, 12 36 14 pm.jpg

Jazz incorporates foundations of proper body alignment, technique, flexibility, and class jazz dance vocabulary with an upbeat rhythm-based style.

Contemporary is a fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz technique that incorporates artists and improvisation to create unconventional shapes, dynamics, and musicality.

Lyrical dance is a dance style that blends elements of jazz, ballet, and modern. The technical movement is used to interpret music/lyrics and express emotion.

Training in Jazz, Contemporary, and/or Lyrical provides a strong technical foundation while also offering an opportunity for dancers to express themselves emotionally. These classes offer an array of styles which keeps the classes engaging and exciting each week. At Carolina Dance Center we offer a wide variety of levels to accommodate dancers of all ages and experience from beginner through pre-professional.
